Zanzibar or the spice island has a deep rooted identity around the culture of spices, as it was one of the only things that Zanzibar could call its own while it was being colonised. Through the consideration of shape and tactility the relationship between the jewellery and the wearer reflects that of the locals and their spices and the ways in which they interact.
